Amorolfine is used as an anti-fungal or a topical antimycotic, that helps to treat fungal infections such as the athlete’s foot. It is also used to treat a fungal infection that affects the nails. You should not use it if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, or are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. Amorolfine is not recommended for children below the age of 12 as well. Let your doctor know if you have a history of poor blood circulation, a weak immune system, diabetes and damaged nails. To treat infected nails, Amorolfine comes in the form of a medicated nail lacquer. It should be applied 1-2 times a week on the nail surface after cleaning it well. While fingernails should be treated for about 6months, toenails require to be treated for 9-12 months. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose and throat. The nail may start to become discolored and loose. Allergic reactions may be felt as well with a burning sensation. Symptoms of a more serious allergic reaction include rashes, trouble breathing, itching and swelling of face and tongue.
